Get Growing ("we," "us") is a garden planning app. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's used.
What we collect
- Account information — the email address and password you sign up with.
- Garden data you enter— your zip code/growing zone, garden bed layouts, plants you're growing, seed inventory, soil test results, planting and harvest history, and any notes you write.
- Photos you submit for identification— when you use the plant, pest/disease, or seed-packet photo ID feature, the photo is sent to Anthropic (our AI provider) to generate a result. We don't use these photos for any purpose beyond returning that result to you, and they are not stored.
- Photos you save to your garden— a bed's reference photo and any photos you add to its growth journal are stored (in our cloud storage provider, Supabase) so they can be shown back to you later. You can delete any of these photos at any time from the app, which permanently removes them from storage.
- Location (zip code only)— used to look up your USDA growing zone, local weather forecasts, and (in the iOS app's AR sun-path feature) the sun's position for your area. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- AR features (iOS app only)— the AR measuring and bed-preview tools process your camera feed entirely on your device using Apple's ARKit. Nothing is recorded, stored, or sent anywhere — only the measurement (in inches) is passed back into the app, and the preview view is never saved.
- Push notification subscription— if you enable watering reminders, your browser (or, in the iOS app, Apple's push notification service) generates a subscription or device token we use only to deliver those reminders.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Basic usage analytics and crash reports — we use PostHog to understand how the app is used (e.g. which features people open) and Sentry to catch and fix errors. These are tied to your account so we can investigate a specific bug report, not sold or shared beyond fixing the app.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your garden data with anyone except the service providers listed below, and only as needed to run the app.
Service providers we use
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication.
- Anthropic — processes photos you submit for plant/pest identification.
- National Weather Service — provides weather forecasts based on your zip code; we don't send them any personal data beyond an approximate location.
- Stripe — processes subscription payments, if you subscribe to a paid plan.
- Vercel — hosts the application itself.
- Apple — delivers push notifications to the iOS app via Apple Push Notification service (APNs), if you enable them there.
- PostHog — basic usage analytics, tied to your account.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting.

Your choices
You can edit or delete your garden data at any time from within the app. To delete your account entirely, contact us using the information below and we'll remove your data from our systems.
